Hi, I'm

Lizzy

Qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, working from person-centred place. What that means is that you are in the centre of your therapy.

I believe each client is unique and any kind of therapeutic interaction must allow for that.

I have a wealth of experience in working with children and adults from all backgrounds both here in the UK and abroad. I have worked in educational settings supporting young people and adults with mental health and additional needs as well as roles working in countywide adult social care teams and youth engagement services.

As a counsellor I have worked in secondary schools, University settings and the charitable sector. I was a lead counsellor for a charity supporting those affected by sexual violence and have been a volunteer mentor within domestic violence services.

I am a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) as well as qualified creative arts facilitator and member of APPCA (Association for Person Centred Arts)This brings the use of art and creativity into the therapy room where appropriate (no artistic prowess necessary, honestly). In addition to my counselling practice, I provide wellbeing workshops around a variety of topics, some of these are educational and some are experiential.Workshops take place regularly throughout the month, if you are looking for a little self-care and exploration then check them out.

A bit more about me...

I really love what I do and strive to continually learn and grow in order to better support those I work with. I regularly undertake professional development courses in new and innovative therapeutic practice.

It’s so important to be able to work in different ways with clients to help them explore and find their own solutions.

Talking therapy is great on its own but sometimes we might need more, how we work is completely down to individual preference.

Other areas of interest and ways of working which include, eco-therapy, play therapy and creative therapies.

"On a personal level I live and work in Harrogate and even after my travels deep down I’m just a Yorkshire gal at heart.

Always a curious adventurer with a love of the outdoors and nature, I am usually found in the Lakes and Dales with my dog Smurf willingly or unwillingly in tow.

I am a creative who loves to paint, sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn’t, either way making or looking at art soothes my soul."

So that’s a bit about me and how I work. But let’s find out more, our relationship needs to be right for you to get the best results.
